PENNVEST PER- AND POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES (PFAS) REMEDIATION PROGRAM

The PENNVEST per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) remediation program is an annual funding program created by Act 101 of 2019.  The program provides funding for eligible applicants to treat and eliminate PFAS compounds from drinking water systems.

Who is eligible to apply?

Applicants may be either public or private entities whose project is construction ready and who are otherwise eligible for funding under the PENNVEST program.  Eligible applicants must hold the water supply permit and have all environmental permits applicable to the project.

When can I apply?

The application deadline for the PFAS program for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 is May 11, 2022.

How do I apply?

Applications for funding through the PFAS Remediation Program must be made through the PV Apply online application system.

What types of projects will be considered?

Any project that proposes to eliminate, reduce, or treat the presence of PFAS compounds in drinking water is eligible, except for projects that are otherwise eligible for funding through the Transit Redevelopment Investment District (TRID) established as part of the Military Installation Remediation Program in Act 101 of 2019. Applicants must show evidence of project readiness and demonstrate a reduction in PFAS exposure to the public.  For more specific guidance on the program, visit https://www.pennvest.pa.gov/Information/Funding-Programs/Pages/PFAS.aspx
