Laura Lewis
Deputy Executive Director 

Career 

Lewis A. Lewis joined PENNVEST in August 2001 as the Deputy Executive Director for Information Technology. She is currently responsible for day-to-day IT operations and staff, planning, project management, and technology implementation. Laura has twenty-five years experience as an information technology professional with focus on strategic and IT planning, application systems design and database engineering. Laura was recruited into state government in 1996 with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Governor’s Office of Administration where she served over five years as an IT Policy Specialist responsible for the development of Commonwealth IT policy, management of enterprise technology projects and oversight of statewide IT contracts. In addition, she accompanied the former Governor Tom Ridge on oversea trade missions to Israel and Ireland promoting trade with Pennsylvania’s technology sectors. Previously, Laura worked for thirteen years for the Department of Navy, Trident Refit Facility in Kings Bay, Georgia where she served as the manager for the enterprise application development and research division. 

Education 

Laura holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from The Pennsylvania State University. She is also a graduate of the Class of 2005 Leadership Development Institute for Women in State Government and has received certifications in Total Quality Leadership, Project Management, and various software technologies. 

Professional 

Laura has served as an advisory board member on numerous boards including the annual Intergovernmental technology Conference, the annual Pennsylvania Digital Government Summit, and the Link-to-Learn Advisory Board as well as worked on the Office of Administration’s IT Employee Incentive and Retention subcommittee.
