Performance Measures

PENNVEST has adopted performance measures to determine how effectively and efficiently the agency delivers services to citizens, businesses, and local governments of Pennsylvania. PENNVEST has established key measures to track progress against common quantifiable goals.   

Performance Goals and Measures

 

Increase/maintain the number of people whose drinking water meets Commonwealth water quality standards

  • Increase/maintain the number of people whose drinking water meets Commonwealth water quality standards
  • Number of drinking water projects approved that will maintain or bring customers' water into compliance with Commonwealth drinking water standards
  • Number of drinking water projects that go to settlement that will maintain or bring customers' water into compliance with Commonwealth drinking water standards
  • Dollars disbursed to drinking water projects that will maintain or bring customers' water into compliance with Commonwealth drinking water standards
  • Number of people whose drinking water is brought into compliance with Commonwealth water quality standards per dollar of drinking water funding provided

Reduce pollutants of concern to surface water

  • Dollars disbursed to wastewater projects that will reduce pollutants of concern to surface water
  • Number of wastewater projects approved that will reduce pollutants of concern to surface water
  • Number of wastewater projects that go to settlement that reduce pollutants of concern to surface water
  • Pounds of pollutants of concern that reduced from surface water per dollar of wastewater funding provided
  • The pounds of pollutants of concern on surface water that are eliminated by PENNVEST-funded projects

Reduce nitrogen and phosphorous discharges in the Chesapeake Bay watershed

  • Annual elimination of pounds of nitrogen and phosphorous by PENNVEST-funded projects that would otherwise be discharged into the Chesapeake Bay watershed
  • Number of wastewater projects approved that will reduce nitrogen and phosphorous discharges into the Bay watershed
  • Number of wastewater projects that go to settlement that will reduce nitrogen and phosphorous discharges into the Bay Watershed
  • Dollars disbursed to wastewater projects that will reduce nitrogen and phosphorous discharges into the Bay watershed
  • Pounds of nitrogen and phosphorous discharges into the Chesapeake Bay watershed that are eliminated per dollar of waste water funding provided

Increase the proportion of PENNVEST subsidies allocated to projects that would not occur in the absence of the subsidies

  •  Percent grant equivalent subsidy per household served
  • Percent of total project funding allocated to projects that would otherwise have user rates above their target levels

Increase the number of sustainable jobs in Pennsylvania

  •  The number of sustainable jobs created by PENNVEST-funded projects
  • The dollar amount of PENNVEST funding approved for projects that create sustainable jobs

Increase the flow captured through the reduction or elimination of combined sewer overflows

  • Percent increase in flow captured through the reduction or elimination of combined sewer overflows
